MARINE TRAVEL LIFT DRIVER

Position Description:  Strait Marine Ltd. is looking for a full-time driver/operator to operate and maintain a 50 ton Marine Travel Lift and fork lift at our boatyard in Steveston, Richmond.  This full-time position is available immediately. Please send your resume to straitmarine@gmail.com.

Position Responsibilities:

• Safely lift and launch fishing and pleasure craft
• Daily maintenance and inspection of travel lift and fork lift machinery before operation
• Adherence to all health and safety procedures for travel lift and fork lift operation to ensure customers, bystanders and the operator are safe
• Provide excellent customer service for travel lift customers including the fishing community and recreational boaters
• Work with Strait Marine’s Office Manager on an efficient and timely travel lift schedule

Position Qualifications:

• Good driving skills; heavy equipment operation, fork lift or mobile crane driving experience an asset
• Ability to maintain a high level of alertness and concentration in order to safely and precisely transport vessels through a busy boat yard
• Must be in good physical condition and able to work in all weather conditions
• Candidates must be dependable and work well with others
• Candidates must be able to effectively communicate with travel lift spotters and other onsite personnel in the boat yard

Hours of work: 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Hourly wage: depends on experience
